Five bulldog puppies stolen in armed robbery in Wellingborough

Police are appealing for information after five bulldog puppies were stolen from inside an address in Windermere Drive, Wellingborough.

The armed robbery happened yesterday (Monday) between 4.20pm and 4.35pm, when three males entered the address and threatened the occupants with weapons before making off with the puppies.

Detective Inspector Johnny Campbell, said: “This was an extremely distressing and upsetting incident for the family in this case and we are urging anyone with any information to get in touch with us so we can find these puppies and return them.

“It’s not clear at this time whether the puppies were the target of the robbery or whether it was a spontaneous decision in the moment to steal them.

“If the person who stole them is reading this, please do the right thing and take them to the local vets or contact us anonymously about where they are so we can return them to their rightful owners.

“We are taking this crime very seriously and detectives continue to carry out enquiries to identify the offenders.

“We ask that pet owners and breeders remain vigilant and speak to their local neighbourhood policing teams should they require crime prevention advice or are concerned as a result of this incident.”
