Police warned last week that they will be increasing patrols in the area after receiving multiple reports of similar incidents on a bridge over Talavera Way that links Blackthorn with Overstone Park.

A rock thrown from a bridge over the A45 at Nene Valley Way last December shattered a lorry’s windscreen and the driver sustained eye injuries.

A similar incident happened in 2008 with fatal consequences after a 15-year-old boy dropped a breeze block onto a lorry driver from the Doddington Road bridge over the A45 dual carriageway, killing the driver instantly when it hit him in the chest.
