The start of a murder trial has been delayed by a month.

The case against Michael Reader, 69, Booth Rise, Northampton, and Stephen Welch, 60, of Addlecroft Close, Kingsthorpe, was due to start on Monday (September 7).

But after hearing submissions during the first part of this week, Her Honour Judge Adrienne Lucking today adjourned the case until October due to unforseen circumstances.

A jury had not yet been sworn in.

Marion Price, 63, was discovered shot in a car park outside her Earls Barton home in December. Welch and Reader stand accused of her murder.
