A Corby man took out his rage on the doors of a Corby convenience store and then damaged a police car after officers arrived to arrest him.

Steven Magee, 39, was in Butland Road on the Oakley Vale estate when he kicked at the doors of the Tesco Express store at about 5.30am on July 6 last year.

When police were called, Magee, of Blenheim Walk, kicked their car resulting in a large dent to the side of the car.

He appeared before magistrates earlier this month where he admitted both offences of criminal damage.

Magee was fined £120 for each offence and ordered to pay compensation of £200 to Northamptonshire Police and £200 to the owner of the building. He was not ordered to pay costs or a victim surcharge because he told the court he did not have the means to do so.
