Magistrates hit a driver with a £500 speeding fine after he admitted clocking over 100mph near a Northampton accident hotspot.

Jason Mills, of West Street in Moulton, was snapped by Police enforcement cameras on Great Billing Way, near Rectory Farm Road at 7.40am in July 2019.

His Audi registered 101mph in the 40mph zone.

Northampton magistrates also ordered the 44-year-old to pay £135 in costs and a surcharge to fund victim services, and added six points on his licence, when he appeared at court earlier this month.

Great Billing Way is designated a Red Route by Northamptonshire Highways for the number of crashes resulting in deaths or serious injuries.
