Driver escapes injury after Vauxhall Vectra flips on roof in Wellingborough

Police confirm scooter seen at the scene was unattended and not involved in crash

A lucky motorist escaped injury after flipping his car in a dramatic early-morning crash in Wellingborough.

According to police, a blue Vauxhall Vectra left the road and rolled onto its roof in Hardwick Road at about 7.50am on Saturday.

East Midlands Ambulance Service rushed to the crash scene but police have since confirmed no injuries were reported.

They also revealed a Voi electric scooter seen at the scene was not involved in the smash, it was simply parked up unattended on the side of a grass verge.

A 36-year-old man has since been charged with failing to provide a specimen of breath, driving otherwise in accordance with a licence and driving without insurance.
