This was the dramatic scene in the Drapery on Wednesday evening after armed police responded to a stabbing in Northampton town centre.
The Chronicle & Echo first broke news of a large police presence outside McDonald's after emergency services answered a 999 call at around 4.30pm.~
East Midlands Ambulance Service later confirmed one person had been taken to the nearby Northampton General Hospital. There have been no official updates on the victim's condition.~
A Northamptonshire Police spokesman issued an appeal for witnesses, saying : "If you have any information, please call us on 101 or phone Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
