A 60-year-old woman is in a critical condition after coming off her bike.

Police officers are appealing for witnesses following the serious collision in Oakley Road, Newton.

The incident happened yesterday (Wednesday) at about 2.10pm when, for reasons yet unknown, the rider of a black Carrera Cross City E-bike became unseated and fell onto the road.

A spokesman for Northants Police said: "The rider, a 60-year-old woman, was conveyed to University Hospital Coventry where she remains in a critical condition."
