A distraction burglar told a woman some plants had fallen down before sneaking into her house and stealing cash.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crime that happened on Tuesday (May 19) at about 4pm in Taunton Avenue.

The woman in her 80s received a knock at the door and was told that her plants had been knocked over and when she left her front door to take a look, the offender sneaked into her house and took cash from her purse.

The suspect is described as a white man, of skinny build, 6ft, in his early 20s, with short dark brown curly hair.
