As police continue to wage war on the scourge of Corby's illegal off-road bikers, the Chief Constable of Northamptonshire Police has promised to display crushed bikes outside the Corby Cube.

The off-road bike menace had reached fever-pitch in Corby over lockdown, with local people fed-up to the back teeth of the problem, until police pledged to do everything in their power to crack down on the bikers.

Another illegal bike was caught this afternoon (Wednesday, June 17) on the playing field off Colyers Avenue on the Kingswood estate. It is also destined for the crusher.

Chief Constable Nick Adderley has confirmed that he is going ahead with his plan to crush the illegal vehicles but because of the Covid-19 pandemic he won’t be able to hold the crushing events in public.

He told the Northants Telegraph: “We're going to crush the ones that we've got in the next few weeks and I’ve said I want that crushed cube to be displayed to Corby.

“It will go on display ouside the Cube with a big notice board warning people that this is what will happen to their bike it you don't start sorting your lives out.”

“From July we're going to have a three-month consistent campaign as part of Operation Journey to target crominial use of off road motorcycles.”
