Cruel Wellingborough thieves target man on mobility scooter

A man on a mobility scooter had his mobile phone stolen by two cruel Wellingborough thieves.

Police are investigating and are appealing for dash-cam footage from The Embankment, hoping a passer-by may have captured the rush-hour incident.

The man was riding his mobility scooter along The Embankment between 8.15am and 8.30am on Friday (July 9) when he was approached by two men on push bikes.

They stole his mobile phone from his bag before riding off.

A police spokesman said: "The offenders were black men aged 20 to 25, wearing black tracksuits and black face coverings, which looked like scarves.

"Due to the time of the incident, officers believe the area would have been busy with traffic and are appealing for anyone who may have captured the incident on dash-cam footage to come forward."
