Crown court judge issues arrest warrant for woman accused of bringing drugs into HMP Five Wells

A judge issued a warrant after a woman failed to turn up at court.
His Honour Judge William Harbage issued a no-bail warrant for the arrest of the woman at Northampton Crown Court after she did not attend her hearing at 10am yesterday (Thursday, October 15).
Emily Curtis, from Walthamstow in London, had been due to appear at the Lady’s Lane court to answer a single charge of conveying class-C drugs into HMP Five Wells in September 2024.
The 25-year-old was due in court for the start of the proceedings at 10am but when she didn’t appear, Judge Harbage gave her barrister an extra two hours to try to get in touch with her.
But by noon, she had still not turned up so a warrant was issued for her arrest.
A date was set for a further hearing next Thursday. Curtis has not yet entered a plea to the charge.
