A Corby woman has been sent to jail for four months after a knife was found on her by police.

Louise Iwanoff, 32, was caught in Kirkwall in August last year illegally carrying a three-inch pocket knife. She was arrested but then on December 12 she found herself in police custody again after she was involved in a public order incident.

Iwanoff, who gave the court addresses in Stephenson Way and Kirkwall, appeared in court on February 18 when she admitted both offences.

Magistrates sentenced her to four months in jail because of her refusal to engage in any other type of lesser punishment.

She was also ordered to pay £128 in costs and fees.

Iwanoff has previous offences on her record including criminal damage and being drunk and disorderly.
