A fresh appeal has been issued three weeks on from the first attack
Detectives investigation two separate assaults on women in Corby, have issued a fresh appeal for witnesses.
A woman in her 20s was sexually assaulted by a man in Ribblesdale Avenue, between 3.30am and 4am on Sunday, January 19. On Tuesday, January 28, at about 11.30pm, a man attempted to sexually assault a second woman in Forest Gate Road.
A 32-year-old Corby man was arrested on Sunday, February 2 in connection with both incidents and have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Detective Inspector Dave Harley, said: “The investigation into both these assaults remain ongoing and we are keen to trace a number of people who were captured on CCTV in the area at the time of the incidents.
“Whilst we appreciate the images are not of the best quality, we hope by releasing them, the CCTV stills may jog someone’s memory of being in the area at the time of the incidents.
“This was a terrifying ordeal for both women and we would encourage anyone who recognise themselves to come forward as a matter of urgency so we can eliminate them from our enquiries.
“We are still appealing for the public’s help in trying to find this man and would remind people to remain vigilant and contact us if they see anything or anyone suspicious in the area.”
Detectives are working around the clock on this investigation and extra patrols will continue to take place in the area to provide community reassurance.
