No details of his offending were heard in court today and Norman will wait four weeks to find out his fate so the probation service can carry out a pre-sentence report.

Judge David Herbert warned Norman that the serious offences crossed the custody threshold.

He said: "Please do not think that in adjourning and not sentencing you today it means it will not be an immediate sentence of imprisonment."

Norman was granted conditional bail and will be sentenced on August 12.
