Corby mum, 27, to marry childhood sweetheart after terminal cancer diagnosis
The family of a young woman from Corby who has incurable cancer has appealed to local people to help pay for her dream wedding
Lucy Robinson, who works at RS Components, was diagnosed with rectal cancer in October after suffering ten months of symptoms.
Sadly, by the time her cancer was diagnosed it had already spread to other areas of her body and last week she was given the heart-breaking news that her cancer was incurable.
Mum to two little boys aged just one and four, former Corby Business Academy pupil Lucy has been unable to start treatment because of the complexity and aggression of the disease. She will soon start palliative chemotherapy to prolong her life with her partner and her children.

Now, her focus is on marrying her beloved partner Jesh.
Family member Becky Austin told the Northants Telegraph: “The main thing Lucy wants to achieve with the time she has left is marry her partner. They are childhood sweethearts and have been together since they were 13.
"They were due to be married later this year but they are now bringing it forward to the March 28.”
The family have set up a gofundme page to help raise enough money to give Lucy and Jesh the wedding they deserve.
Becky added: “ We have seen amazing generosity from people who know and love her and the general public in Corby.
"Local businesses have rallied round to provide their services to help facilitate this wedding.
"The family is blown away by the generosity. We are hoping we can continue to fundraise to pay for things that cannot be gifted such as the wedding dress she is dreaming of, shoes and a honeymoon for example."
Any funds that are not used for the wedding will be used for days out and activities to help her children remember Lucy, and to support the family after she is gone.
Brother-in-law Jake Maxted said: “I cannot begin to explain the strength and resilience I have witnessed from her because I do not have the words to describe it.
“Not once have I heard Lucy complain during this whole process. Instead, she has solely thought about the well being of others like her partner and her two beautiful little boys.
“My family will eventually lose a truly beautiful soul and the world loses someone whose story wasn't finished.
“This gofundme has been setup with the sole purpose to raise funds towards the things my cousin would like to do whilst she has time on her side.”
