Corby men charged with conspiracy to rob four corner shops

Two men from Corby have made their first appearance in court charged with conspiring to rob shops in Desborough, Brigstock, Market Harborough and Broughton.

Gary Lee Woods, 34, of HMP Woodhill, but formerly of Corby, and James McClafferty, 36, of Crick Close, Corby, appeared before Northampton Magistrates Court yesterday (Thursday, November 14).

The pair stand accused of conspiring to rob the Co-op stores in Brigstock, Broughton and Desborough and the Spar store in Coventry Road, Market Harborough between January 8 and January 17, 2018.

District Judge Tim Daber told the pair that the offences were too serious to be heard at the magistrates' court so their case would be heard by Northampton Crown Court. Their next hearing will take place in December.
