The founder of the Corby Guard group has denied intentional strangulation.

Reece McCarron appeared at Northampton Magistrates’ Court earlier this week after he was charged with three offences said to have happened last Saturday (October 10).

The 29-year-old, of Baltic Close, was the founder of the Corby Guard group that charged itself with protecting women and children in the town in summer 2025.

McCarron now stands accused of intentionally strangling a former female partner during the incident last weekend.

He appeared in court on Monday (October 12) and denied the offence. He is set to stand trial at a date to be decided.

He pleaded guilty to two other offences against the same victim – harassment by way of breaching a restraining order, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

McCarron was remanded in custody and will appear at Northampton Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Monday, October 19) to ask magistrates to bail him ahead of his trial.

He will also separately appear tomorrow on accused of breaching a community order after allegedly failing to turn up for an unpaid work appointment.
