Corby man charged with drink driving after car smashes into cottage on Northants border

A Corby man was arrested after a car smashed through a house in a border village causing extensive damage.

Ion Frunze, 28, of Cannock Road is accused of drink driving, driving without due care and attention and of driving without insurance or a licence following the incident in Caldecott on Saturday (August 1).

The occupants, including an elderly woman, were in the house at the time of the incident but were uninjured.

The car ploughed through fencing and into the rear garden of the property at the northern entrance to the village on the A6003, causing structural damage to the kitchen.

Frunze will appear before magistrates in Leicester next month.
