Corby man caught with extendable baton is given a tag

He also admitted a racially aggravated public order offence

A Corby man will have to spend every night at home for the foreseeable future after he was given a tag for carrying a weapon.

Jordan Johnson, 26, was arrested after he was caught with an extendable baton in Elizabeth Street on November 2 last year.

He was taken to custody and was also abusive towards a police officer in Kettering, which magistrates found was racially aggravated.

At Northampton Magistrates' Court Johnson admitted possession of a weapon and a racially aggravated public order offence.

He was sentenced to a community order with rehabilitation requirements and will have to wear a tag for an electronic curfew.

Johnson must stay at his Lapland Walk home between 7pm and 7am every day for the next six months.

Magistrates ordered him to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £90.

He will also have to forfeit his rights to the baton.
