Corby man caught driving down George Street after taking cannabis and cocaine

A Corby man has been sentenced by a court after police caught him drug driving in the town centre.

Ben Lawman, 20, of Hubble Road, Corby was stopped by officers in George Street on December 28 last year.

Magistrates in Northampton heard last week how Lawman had been tested after being stopped and was found to have 55 microgrammes of Benzoylecgonine (metabolised cocaine) per litre of blood. The legal limit is 50.

He also had 2.6 microgrammes of cannabis in his system. The limit is two.

Lawman admitted the offences and was disqualified from driving for 12 months. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32, costs of £85 and a fine of £80.
