Corby man and woman charged after police raid

A man and a woman from Corby have been charged with theft after a police raid in Rutland yesterday (Monday).

Robert Mort and Leanne Seymour have been released on bail after they were arrested in the area of Old School Mews in Uppingham just before lunchtime.

Mort, 34 and of Bamburg Close in Corby, has been charged with two counts of theft.

The charges relate to an incident at a store in Uppingham on December 28 where candles and beauty products were stolen and an incident at a premises in Oakham on January 3 where meat was stolen.

Seymour, 40 and of Plumpton Court in Corby, has been charged with one count of theft. It relates to an incident at a premises in Oakham on December 19.

Mort is due to face magistrates in Leicester on February 13 with Seymour appearing at the same court on February 28.

A 52-year-old man from Corby who was also arrested on suspicion of theft has been released under investigation.

A police spokesman said enquiries are ongoing.
