Corby man admits child sex crimes

A Corby man will be sentenced next year after pleading guilty to child sex crimes.

Barrie Pickering, 29, admitted all five charges facing him at Wellingborough Magistrates' Court over offences which took place in 2019.

Pickering, of Bideford Square in the town, was arrested after allegations he touched an underage girl inappropriately on a number of occasions.

He also sent the girl a lewd picture on Snapchat.

When he appeared before magistrates Pickering pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual activity with a child, one count of attempting to sexually touch an underage girl and one count of sexual communication with a child.

He was granted bail and will be sentenced at Northampton Crown Court on January 8 next year.
