Corby man admits assaulting woman

A Corby man must pay fines and compensation after he admitted attacking a woman.

Paul Dawson, 57, appeared at Northampton Magistrates' Court after he assaulted the woman by beating her in Woodford on May 27.

He also admitted criminal damage after damaging a door.

Magistrates handed Dawson, of Wells Green in Corby, fines totalling £80 and ordered him to pay his victim £40 in compensation.

He was also given a restraining order banning him from contacting his victim or visiting a named address for a year.

Magistrates said it was "necessary to protect the victim from further violence".

Dawson must also pay court costs of £85 and a surcharge to fund victim services of £34.
