The driver of the Fiesta, a 28-year-old woman, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to University Hospital Coventry, where she remains today.

Police closed both carriageways so the air ambulance could land, before re-opening the northbound carriageway shortly afterwards and then the southbound carriageway later that day.

A police spokesman said: "Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dash cam footage of the two vehicles travelling along the A43 Corby Link Road prior to the collision or of the incident itself.

"Anyone with information is asked to call the Drivewatch Hotline on 0800 174615 or Northamptonshire Police on 101 quoting reference number 286 of 15/04/21."

No arrests have been made in connection with the crash.
