A Corby man caught twice over the drink-drive limit at the town's Jet Garage has been jailed after showing a 'flagrant disregard' for court orders.

Arkadiusz Kluczek, 38, of Oakwood Drive was stopped by police at the forecourt in Rockingham Road on August 2 and was found to have 112mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath - the legal limit is 35mg.

Then, just two days later, on August 4, he was stopped again in Kettering on suspicion of drink driving. But he refused to provide a sample of his breath to police. He was held in custody overnight and the following morning, magistrates imposed an interim driving disqualification, telling the defendant not to get behind the wheel again until he'd been sentenced for his original crime.

But again, on August 8, Kluczek, a Polish national, was stopped by officers while driving in Dovedale Road, Corby, and refused to give police a breath sample. On that occasion he was also found to be driving while disqualified.

He appeared at Northampton Magistrates' Court on September 3 and pleaded guilty to the four charges. He was sent to jail for 22 weeks, fined a total of £128 and ordered to pay £175 in court costs. Magistrates imposed the prison sentence after saying he had a 'flagrant disregard' for court orders.
