Corby drains searched by specialist police after 'critical' stabbing

Specialist officers are searching drains for a knife after a stabbing in Corby.
Officers are standing guard this morning (Thursday, March 5) at the run down property in Landseer Court, on the Hazel Leys estate, which is currently taped-off.

Hide AdThe victim is said to be in a critical condition following the incident at 9pm on Tuesday night.
The 31-year-old was taken to hospital where he remains in a 'very poorly' state. The A 33-year-old man was arrested and detained by officers and is currently in police custody.
A team of police officers were using magnets this morning to retrieve debris from surface water drains in the hope of finding a weapon that may aid their investigation.
The house where the stabbing happened has a boarded-up window and a smashed internal door standing in the side passage.

Hide AdNeighbours said that they hadn't seen or heard anything on the night of the incident. One man said: "Most people round here work shifts. There are lots of rented houses that have people coming and going all the time so we don't really know the neighbours that well."
