Corby criminal who spat at officers shouting 'enjoy Covid' escapes jail term
A Corby man who has a long list of convictions has avoided going to jail after magistrates heard of his latest round of crimes.
Andru-Jay Burgess, who is just 20, was in breach of a community order for a previous offence when he committed his most recent string of misdemeanours.

Hide AdBurgess, of Culross Walk on Corby's Kingswood estate, has been given a total of 22-weeks in prison suspended for eighteen months following his shameful exploits in Corby.
He appeared before magistrates earlier this week who heard how, on April 5, he was caught driving a Honda motorcycle in Sower Leys Road while disqualified and without insurance.
He was then caught driving a mini in Balmoral on May 2 while disqualified from holding a licence. He also again admitted having no insurance.
On June 22 he assaulted two police officers at Kettering custody suite, shouting 'enjoy Covid' at them while spitting at them. He was ordered to pay them £50 compensation each.
A separate charge of assault on a woman was discontinued.

Hide AdBurgess was disqualified from driving for a further three years. He was ordered to pay £756 in costs and £122 victim surcharge. If he reoffends within the 18 month suspension period he could be sent straight to jail.
His convictions stretch back several years and include criminal damage, driving offences, possession of cannabis, harassment and failing to surrender to the court.
