Corby boy escapes after 'bare chested' stranger in Kingswood park offers him money to go with him

An eight-year-old boy was approached by a stranger in a park on the Kingswood estate who offered him money to go with him.

Corby police are investigating the incident that happened at about 2.20pm on Tuesday, August 11. Details have only been made public this afternoon (Thursday, August 13)

Officers say a man approached an eight-year-old boy in the park. He offered the boy some money and asked him to go with him. The boy refused and ran away.

The man is described as being of a mixed raced appearance and was wearing black or brown trousers and was bare chested with a light blue/turquoise t-shirt around his neck.

A police spokesperson said: “I would like to reassure the local community that we take reports such as this seriously and are currently investigating the circumstances of this incident. I would urge the man who approached the boy to get in touch with officers to help us understand exactly what happened.”
