Boy bitten by dog in Wellingborough

Police officers are appealing for a dog walker to contact them after a young cyclist was biitten in Abbey Road, Wellingborough.

The incident took place between 6.45pm and 7.15pm on Monday, September 28, as the 12-year-old boy cycled along Abbey Road towards Castle Fields, when he saw a man with a dog on a lead walking towards him.

As the boy tried to cycle past, he was forced to put his leg on the ground to avoid hitting the dog, which then bit his leg, causing his skin to break. The boy didn’t stop and cycled home.

The dog walker is described as white and in his early 20s. He was 5ft 9in, of a slim build and was wearing a black hoodie/puffa-style jacket with the hood up and face covering.

The dog was on a metal chain lead, and is described as small, with short “blondie” fur, a short tail and a white patch on one of its legs.

Officers investigating the incident are appealing for the dog walker or anyone who may recognise his or the dog’s description, to get in touch.
