Two youths tried to rob a boy in a Wellingborough car park after demanding he handed over his phone.

Today (July 27) police have appealed for the public's help after the incident in the Morrisons car park between 7pm and 7.30pm on July 10.

The victim, a 15-year-old boy, was near the green area when he was approached by two other boys who demanded he hand over his mobile phone.

Police said that when he declined they pulled him from his bicycle and tried to steal it before giving up and making off.

A spokesman for the force said: "One of the suspects is described as a white boy, aged 15 to 16, about 5ft 9in, of stocky build, with brown shaven hair and wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans.

"The other suspect is described as an Asian boy, aged 15 to 16, of skinny build, about 6ft, wearing a grey Nike tracksuit and a grey piece of fabric around his head."

Witnesses or anyone with information should call Northamptonshire Police on 101.
