Appeal after four-car crash which closed road between Rothwell and Desborough

No arrests have been made

Police are urging anyone who witnessed a four-car crash between Rothwell and Desborough last night (Wednesday) to come forward.

Emergency services closed Desborough Road at about 5.30pm and spent two hours clearing it before it re-opened.

A police spokesman said the incident happened when another vehicle, of which the details are unknown, attempted to overtake a line of cars which were slowing down for a temporary red traffic light at roadworks.

But during the incident four cars - a grey Vauxhall Corsa, a grey Mercedes GLA 220, a silver Ford Fiesta and a black Audi Q5 Quattro - were involved in a crash.

One was pictured facing sideways on a verge with several dents as police closed the road at both ends.

A police spokesman said nobody was injured in the incident and that no arrests have been made.

They urged anyone with information to come forward and call them on 101.
