Police officers are appealing for witnesses after a large 19th century French bronze statue from a village near Oundle.

Officers did not say which village it has been stolen from.

At about 2am on Thursday, June 25, the offender/s forced opened a set of iron gates to access the residential garden, and stole the statue of a lady sitting on a goat, which stands at just over 5ft.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this theft or been offered the distinctive item for sale in unusual or suspicious circumstances.
