Yet another off-road bike being driven illegally on the roads of Corby has been removed from its owner by police in Corby today (Thursday, May 14).

The town has suffered from off-road bikes being driven on public roads and on green spaces for decades.

And it appears the problem has worsened during lockdown.

After the issue was highlighted by the Northants Telegraph, officer pledged to redouble their efforts to stop the menace once and for all, and have seized several bikes in recent weeks.

Today (Thursday, May 14) they found another being driven near the town centre that made off when they tried to stop it. After eventually catching the rider, they seized the bike.

A message on social media from the Proactive Cops said: "Out & about in #Corby in cars and on bikes. Off roader just made off near town centre, we now have it seized and waiting for recovery and then onwards to the crusher."

Chief Constable of Northamptonshire Police Nick Adderley has pledged to hold a public crushing event once lockdown is over to send a message to those who continue to flout the law.
