Air ambulance called after serious crash closes A43 near Kettering

The air ambulance has been called to a serious crash which has closed the A43 near Kettering this afternoon.

Police are currently dealing with the incident and both carriageways are currently closed at Barford Bridge.

The incident, which took place on the stretch travelling from Stanion towards Kettering, took place just after 2pm.

It involved a car and a lorry and the driver of the car, a woman, has been seriously hurt.

A force spokesman said: "Motorists are advised to avoid the area while we deal with this incident.

"Thank you for your patience."

The road is expected to be closed for at least the next hour.
