Thousands of cases were heard at Northamptonshire's three criminal courts last year, with most dealt with by magistrates.
But cases involving a serious offence are heard by a crown court judge.

17. DEREK HARRIS
The wannabe Corby gangster, 18, took part in a group stabbing before playing a hand in a kidnapping plot which saw a man tortured. He was jailed for eight years.
18. CHLOE WALKER/BRANDON WALKER
The Wellingborough sex offender, who commits crimes in both male and female guises, racked up their 49th offence. Walker was jailed for 10 months.
19. JOE CLARKE
The Kettering man attacked his gran and threatened to stab her, before suggesting she was confused about it because of her dementia. He was jailed for 30 months.
20. KEVIN SHEPPARD
The paedophile teaching assistant, who worked at Irthlingborough's Huxlow Science College, bought child abuse footage with Amazon vouchers. He was spared from prison.
