Wellingborough domestic abuser who threatened victim with knife is jailed
A man who strangled a woman in Wellingborough has been imprisoned.
Xiao Wen Lu was at Northampton Crown Court to be sentenced for four domestic offences targeted at a local woman.
The 22-year-old of Eskdale Close, Wellingborough, was given a two-year jail term, of which he will serve half before he is released to spend the remainder of his sentence on licence in the community.
The court heard that Lu unlawfully threatened the female victim with a knife during an assault on May 2 last year. He also pleaded guilty to an actual bodily harm assault during that incident.

He also admitted repeatedly strangling her between March 1 and April 30.
Several other counts, that had been denied by Lu, including issuing threats to kill his victim, were allowed to lie on file.
Alongside his two year jail term he was ordered not to contact his victim in any way for five years. He must also pay a £228 surcharge.
