Van driver jailed after A14 smash
A Mercedes Sprinter driver has been before a court after an early-hours smash seriously injured his passenger.
The A14 was closed for 12 hours after the van smashed into the central reservation, injuring all four occupants of the vehicle, in the early hours of November 4 last year.
Driver Haron James, of Stokes Drive, Leicester, was behind the wheel of the vehicle when it crashed between Kettering and Thrapston close to the westbound A6 Burton Latimer turning.
James, 22, was before Northampton Crown Court in late August to be sentenced after he admitted one count of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He was given two years and two months in prison, and disqualified from driving for three years and one month. He will serve half of his custodial sentence before being released to serve the remainder in the community.
He was also ordered to pay a £228 surcharge.
