Two charged over knifepoint burglary in Corby
Two people have been remanded into custody following an aggravated burglary on the Lincoln Estate.
Peter Tierney, 43, of no fixed abode, has been charged with aggravated burglary while being in possession of a knife. The offence is said to have happened on November 21 in a house in Surfleet Close.
He is also further charged with, two days later on November 23, driving a black Vauxhall Corsa while disqualified and without insurance or a licence in Oakley Road, as well as dangerous driving related to the same offence. Tierney is also accused of being in possession of five Pregabalin tablets at Weekley Wood Justice Centre on the same date.
A 17-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons is also charged with being Tierney’s accomplice during the burglary offence.

Separately, the 17-year-old is charged with possession of cocaine with intent to supply it in June this year in Northampton. During that offence he is also alleged to have been in possession of a knife, which he denies. He admitted breaking a condition of his bail, which was revoked at the hearing.
Both defendants appeared before magistrates on November 25 and entered no pleas. The older man was remanded to prison and the younger defendant was remanded into youth custody.
They are set to appear at Northampton Crown Court in the new year for a plea hearing.
