Trial date set for girl, 13, accused of murdering woman in Wellingborough
A young teenager accused of murdering Wellingborough woman Marta Bednarczyk will stand trial before a high court judge later this year.
The youngster – who cannot be named because of her age – appeared before Northampton Crown Court earlier today (Friday, October 3) where the charges were formally put to her for the first time.

She denied murder and arson with intent to endanger life and will now stand trial.
Marta Bednarczyk was found dead in the house in Wellingborough on March 10 this year. She had suffered multiple stab wounds.
High Court judge The Honourable Mrs Justice Tipples will preside over the case.
She, along with barristers at today’s half-hour hearing, did not wear wigs or gowns.
The youngster, who was referred to using her first name only, sat in the well of the court with a trusted adults beside her to ensure she understood the proceedings. She clutched a stuffed bunny as the hearing took place.
Wearing a black shirt, the girl stood and clearly denied each charge as it was put to her.
Representing her is one of the country’s most respected barristers, Mary Prior KC, along with her junior Micaila Williams.
The judge said the trial will be held at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court – sitting as a crown court – in November. Sitting times will be limited to school hours to ensure that the defendant is able to fully participate.
