Man repeatedly harassed woman in Northamptonshire village

A judge has passed a custodial sentence on a man who has carried out a campaign of harassment on a female victim.
Thao Francis Panter, of no fixed abode, has been before Northampton Crown Court for sentence after he admitted four counts of harassment on a woman in Little Harrowden.
The 48-year-old was banned from contacting the woman by a restraining order back in 2019, imposed by the crown court after he was convicted of offences against her.
But on October 8 and 9, 2025, Panter, who has a colourful criminal history, twice tried to contact her the victim while he was at Northampton General Hospital.
Then between October 13 and October 20, at Little Harrowden he contacted her and was at her address, both of which he was banned from doing by the restraining order.
On October 19 he visited her home.
Panter admitted four counts of harassment when he appeared before the court earlier this month. Recorder Stuart Sprawson jailed him for 13 months. He will serve half of the sentence in custody before he is released to serve the remainder in the community.
Just a month ago Panter was fined by magistrates for assaulting a woman. Last year he was before the court for driving offences.
In 2024 he was jailed for 50 weeks for a series of burglaries and thefts.
He was also imprisoned in 2016 for breaching a restraining order banning him from going to the address in Little Harrowden.
Back in 2014 Panter was jailed for harassing an ex by breaking into her home and stealing her car keys. During the same court case, he admitted assaulting a shopkeeper while trying to steal cider.
