Kettering man threatened victim with imitation firearm

A man who admitted brandishing an imitation firearm in Kettering has been before Northampton Crown Court.

Ryan Lewis Muggleton, who has a decade-long history of criminality, has been back before the courts to be sentenced for yet another incident.

The 36-year-old of Alexandra Street, Kettering, was found in Kettering with a fake firearm which was used to threaten a victim, who believed it may be used against him.

Following the incident on July 30 last year, Muggleton was arrested and charged with robbery and possession of the weapon with intent.

At an appearance earlier this week at Northampton Crown Court, the robbery charge was left to lie on file after Muggleton admitted the weapon charge.

He was handed an 18-month prison term. He will serve half of it before he is eligible for release.

Muggleton has previous convictions dating back more than a decade for assault by beating, assaulting a police officer, criminal damage, drug possession, failing to surrender to custody, driving while over the limit for cocaine and benzoylecgonine, driving without due care and attention, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, failing to stop for a police officer and breaching a domestic violence protection order.
