Corby man jailed over serious domestic abuse offences
A Corby man is facing more than three years in prison after abusing a female partner.
Sean Duff, 40, is behind bars after he admitted two serious charges against a woman in Corby.
Duff, formerly of Christie Road, pleaded guilty to engaging in controlling behaviour during an eight-month period, after initially denying the offence. He sent multiple abusive text messages and used violence and emotional distress to control his victim.
He also admitted one charge of assault on her, said to have taken place last August.

Duff was given three years and two months in prison by Her Honour Judge Rebecca Crane. A restraining order was also made that bans the defendant from going within 100 metres of a specific street in Corby for five years.
Duff has a previous conviction for harassment against a different female victim, for which he was given a community order last year. The crown court revoked that community order to account for his prison term.
