Corby driver charged with falling asleep at the wheel after A43 crash seriously injured two children
A motorist is due before the court today after he was charged following a serious crash near Kettering.
Two young children suffered serious injuries including multiple broken bones during the accident near Broughton on the A43 on August 21, 2024.
The driver and his passenger were also taken to hospital.
It’s thought the VW Passat swerved into the opposite carriageway before the driver lost control and hit a tree.

Now Mihai Sonu, 38, the alleged driver of the Volkswagen, has been charged with two counts of causing serious injury by careless driving.
It’s alleged he fell asleep at the wheel just before the 6.15am accident on the northbound carriageway toward Kettering, that left the A43 shut for several hours.
One of the children suffered multiple broken bones to his face, arm and hip and the other had serious lung and rib injuries.
Sonu, of Calder Close, will appear before Northampton Magistrates’ Court this morning (Thursday, November 27).
