McCarron, of Montrose Street, Corby, was charged with four separate offences that took place during October last year.

Northampton Magistrates’ Court heard how he admitted threatening two council staff members in the street in which he lived. He was also charged with a public order offence and with driving his Ford Transit Custom without insurance.

He also pleaded not guilty to criminal damage but was found guilty by magistrates after a trial. The court heard he caused damage worth £511 to the council van driven by the two workers.

McCarron, who celebrated his 42nd birthday in prison, last week, was given a 20 week prison sentence for an incident magistrates described as ‘sustained’. He will serve half of the sentence in prison before being released to serve the rest in the community.

He was also disqualified from driving and ordered to pay the council £511 in compensation.
