Operator Centrebus has suspended its rural service this afternoon after a yellow weather warning was issued by the Met Office. Snow began falling in Rutland this morning and at lunchtime 4x4 rescue services were sent to villages near Melton Mowbray to help stranded cars.

A Centrebus statement on social media said: "Unfortunately the worsening conditions have meant that these services are now suspended. Sorry for any inconvenience caused."
