Richard Faulds, formerly of Norse Walk, Corby, who is currently serving an eight-year prison sentence at Rye Hill, has received another jail term after he admitted raping the girl.

Northampton Crown Court heard Faulds was convicted of child sex assault charges in June 2014.

The charges also included possessing indecent images and videos involving children on his mobile phone.

James Thomas, prosecuting, said, after Faulds was jailed, two more rape charges were investigated by Northamptonshire Police.

Faulds refused to attend his first court appearance in September last year but then pleaded guilty to the rape charge in January.

Recorder Sally Hancox QC, sentencing, said she still believed Faulds posed a “significant risk of serious harm to the public”.

Faulds was sentenced to 10 years in jail with a further five years on licence. He must serve at least two thirds of his prison sentence in jail.

Recorder Hancox said the 10-year sentence would start immediately, running concurrently with the eight-year jail term Faulds is currently serving.
