A pre-teen had to be cut out by firefighters from one of the swings in the recently installed pirate themed play equipment at Corby Boating Lake last night (Monday).

A 12-year-old had been playing in a baby swing when they became jammed in the seat and unable to free themselves.

A crew from Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue was called to extract the girl.
