Concerns after flash flooding shuts Kettering street
Residents have hit out after heavy rainfall shut a busy Kettering street where new flats have been built.

The bottom of Lower Street was under water for the second day running after flash flooding, with police closing it at the Northfield Avenue roundabout today (Tuesday).
Ivan Humphrey lives in Railway View just off Lower Street, and he says the flooding is due to blocked drains.
He said: “The bottom of Lower Street and Northfield Avenue is closed again due to flash flooding, requiring a police presence to shut the road for over two hours, while a road tanker tried to pump away the surface water.
“Perhaps if the council and the Highways Agency actually bothered to unblock the drains, we wouldn’t have to put up with the so called “Gateway to the Town Centre” being flooded on dozens of occasions each and every year!”
