Choral hospice donation is a pitch perfect gesture

Choirs from Wellingborough, Corby, Northampton, and other local areas took part in ‘Northants Sings Out’, a series of concerts featuring funk, soul and gospel choir performances. Money was raised through ticket sales and raffles in two consecutive shows held at Kettering’s Lighthouse Theatre in November.

Wellingborough Community Gospel Choir, which is comprised over 150 staff members, parents and friends of the Wellingborough School, was one of the choirs to take part in the show.

Ruth Bowe, organiser of the Choir, said: “Wellingborough School has an ethos of charity and community. The Choir is always pleased to help out a local charitable cause, particularly one like Cransley, which means so much to so many people.”

Ruth, alongside choir director Gareth Fuller, presented the cheque to Cransley Hospice earlier this month. Debbie Grant, hospice fundraiser, said: “The Cransley Hospice Trust relies on donations from the community to enhance our services. The impact of donations, such as this one from Northants Sings Out, is fundamental.”
